Diamond Binta, unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024, is the new jewel from Tankoa Yachts, a 58-metre full-custom superyacht. Sold in 2021 and delivered in the summer of 2024, this superyacht redefines luxury, combining innovation and craftsmanship thanks to the Genoese shipyard’s ’boutique’ construction philosophy, known for creating unique, customised boats.
Designed in collaboration with the Francesco Paszkowski Design studio, Diamond Binta is the vision of an owner fond of Tankoa, a former owner of the 50-metre Binta d’Or. The desire for a larger yacht, capable of long cruises and fully reflecting her personality, led to the creation of a bespoke masterpiece. Every detail, from the elegant exterior to the sophisticated interior, testifies to the yard’s commitment to combining aesthetics and functionality.
“Our approach was guided by the desire to exceed the owner’s expectations, creating cosy and exclusive environments,” says Francesco Paszkowski. Fine materials such as oak, leather and marble are combined with a neutral colour palette to create a serene and timeless atmosphere. Integrated LED lighting and flowing surface shapes add a touch of refined modernity.
Distinctive Elements and Personalised Luxury
Diamond Binta takes some of the distinctive elements of modern yachts (such as the beach club at the stern, the panoramic gym on the upper deck, the owner’s suite on the main deck, the garage for a 9-metre limousine tender and the helipad on the upper deck) and reinterprets them to elevate the concept even further. The spacious beach club includes a relaxation area with a lounge and a spa area with a glass wall, which lets in natural light when the side terraces are lowered and the hatch door is open. In addition, a skylight from the main deck further illuminates this popular area.
The owner’s passion for engineering emerges in an extraordinary detail on the lower deck: a central guest corridor, with large panoramic windows overlooking an impeccable open engine room, directly connects the beach club with the guest cabins. Diamond Binta can accommodate up to 12 guests in five cabins, including two with pullman beds. The full-beam owner’s suite, located forward of the main deck, includes a lounge area and a study with a folding terrace. Unique design details can be seen here, such as the asymmetrical patterns in the carpets and ceilings, and the attention to detail in the furnishings and finishes.
The Interior and Flydeck
The interior is characterised by the extensive use of oak in different finishes – striped, polished, brushed and dark brown with a tatami texture for the floors.
The neutral colour palette, ranging from dove grey to more intense tones, creates a serene and elegant atmosphere. Fine materials such as leather, metal and glass enrich the décor, with satin-finished metal profiles in the living areas and a light leather owner’s desk.
Machined leather panels embellish the corridors, while hard leather is used for beds and headboards. Smoked glass elements add modernity, as in the doors of the bathrooms and master cabin. Most of the furniture is custom-designed, including coffee tables, owner’s suite, beach club lounge, office desk and kitchen, complementing high-end furnishings by renowned brands such as Minotti and Poltrona Frau.
The kitchen, designed to be functional for both crew and owner, also reflects the latter’s passion for cooking. The interior shows a boutique and innovative design, with soft, rounded lines replacing traditional geometric shapes. The low cabinets have rounded corners and black lacquered oak finishes, while the walls of the owner’s office are curved, creating discreetly defined spaces.
The ceilings, as Paszkowski points out, play a central role in the design. “We combined pearl grey lacquered panels with grey-brown panels, enhanced by integrated LED strips running along curved, irregular beams at the edges of the ceiling, highlighting key areas such as the living areas of the main and upper decks,” he explains. “This careful lighting design highlights the rounded shaped sofas, creating an intimate atmosphere even in the owner’s suite’s conversation area.”
On the Fly Deck, a swimming pool with integrated spa jets is flanked by an open-air lounge and dining area, while the central section houses a gymnasium and a spacious lounge with panoramic views.
