Imagine a maxi-rib that combines a sophisticated design, breathtaking performance and unparalleled comfort: the Sacs Strider 13 is not just a boat, but a true declaration of freedom for those who experience the sea as a unique experience.
The Sacs Strider 13 is a true declaration of intent: a fusion of captivating design and high-level performance, ideal for those who want to experience the sea as a continuous adventure. We had the pleasure of trying out this maxi-rib at sea and were impressed by its performance, its design and the feeling of total control even at high speeds.
Exteriors: space, style and socialising
The Strider 13 immediately stands out for its sleek, modern profile, the result of the design expertise of Christian Grande Design Works. The dynamic design and well-studied geometries communicate safety and sturdiness, while the use of high-quality materials and finishes gives it an exclusive look, thanks also to the burgundy-coloured cushions that are truly breathtakingly beautiful.
The large external areas are designed to guarantee moments of socialising and relaxation. The cockpit is spacious, with ergonomic seats and cushions in Silvertex Sandstone, which combine elegance and resistance to atmospheric agents. At the stern we are immediately greeted by a huge swim platform, thanks to the sterndrive motor, and thanks to two small steps in the centre of the keel we can reach the excellent relaxation area of the Strider 13.
Two large sunbathing cushions placed at the sides of the central walkway can easily accommodate 4 adults, and another two steps take us down into the cockpit. The two large L-shaped sofas with tables at the two corners can be joined and with the addition of the kitchenette, the ‘dinette’ area is transformed into another huge sunbathing area.
Opposite there is a wet bar with a hob and sink, lots of drawers and, in the flap covering the kitchen, there is a strong seal to prevent water damaging the equipment… really remarkable attention to detail on Sacs’ part.
Behind the kitchen, towards the front, we find three super sports seats facing forward and the fully equipped driving console. On the left there is access to the areas below deck, while the two side passages lead to the front of the boat.
The bow has a really large solarium, perfect for sunbathing. Perhaps the only flaw is the two raised side passages with a step at the height of the tubular, making the passage from one side of the boat to the other seem unsafe, especially when sailing.
The interiors: comfort and functionality
Going below deck, the Sacs Strider 13 has surprisingly generous spaces and well optimised to be a boat. Despite the sporty soul of the boat, attention to comfort is evident in every detail.
The internal configuration includes two cabins. with beds for 2+2 people, a detail that makes it ideal not only for day trips, but also for cruises lasting several days. The booths are furnished with high quality materials and have a modern design that combines practicality and elegance.
The bathroom, with a separate shower, is a real luxury for a boat of this category. The combination of functional spaces and refined finishes guarantees superior comfort, worthy of a high-level boat. The capacity of the tanks is another plus point: with a 1150 litre fuel tank and a 200 litre water tank, the Strider 13 is ready for long days at sea without the need for frequent stops.
Performance and versatility
With a total length of 13.47 metres and a width of 4.26 metres, the Sacs Strider 13 is designed to guarantee maximum performance and comfort. It can accommodate up to 16 people, making it perfect for those who love to share the experience of the sea with friends and family. The maximum supported power is 1200 hp with outboard engines and 880 hp with sterndrive engines, offering lively performance and safe navigation even at high speeds.
The completely redesigned hull offers an impeccable balance between comfort, stability and performance. During our test, we appreciated the hull’s ability to deal with waves and spray without difficulty, ensuring smooth sailing even in slightly rough seas. The The V-shaped bow with a deadrise angle of 19.4° ensures exceptional seakeeping and reduces roll at anchor, making every moment on board a pleasant one.
Testing the new Sacs Strider 13
It’s a sunny but particularly windy morning at the Genoa Trade Fair and we’re preparing to leave the port with a fairly strong onshore wind. The waves enter the canal not yet completely out of the harbour’s basin and already put the new Sacs Strider 13 to the test.
As soon as we get out into the open sea I take the helm: the driving position is really excellent, both standing and sitting you have quick access and control of all the instruments on board.
Ben riparata dal vento grazie al grande parabrezza (unito al T-top) iniziamo ad accelerare tra le onde, e la risposta immediata di Sacs Strider 13 è davvero sorprendente. It cuts through the waves ahead of us like a chef’s knife plunging its blade into a soft block of butter… that’s the feeling on board.
I turn around, after a few turns, and check how much ‘water’ my colleagues have taken while waiting their turn behind the kitchen cabinet: not a single drop. I reach speeds of around 30 knots, despite the weather and sea conditions, and I can hardly hear the noise of the engines, which are well soundproofed under the aft sun deck.
At the wheel, all manoeuvres are fluid and responsive, the hull of this Strider 13 is leaving me speechless, I reach 38 knots in no time at all, which with a sea like the one we’re facing today is truly an amazing result. Even more impressive is the fact that at 37 knots, while turning, I crossed my own waves and didn’t even realise that I had cut them with the bow.
Stability and fluidity are the things that most surprised me on board this Sacs Strider 13. It didn’t veer an inch from the helm input, not even at top speed and in those conditions. Even when turning, whether tight or wide, the hull cuts through the water so precisely that for a few moments it is even possible to let go of the steering wheel, and this maxi-rib will continue in its direction.
Conclusions on Sacs Strider 13
The new Sacs Strider 13 confirms its status as an icon of innovation and design. Thanks to the combination of outdoor spaces designed for relaxation and comfortable and functional interiors, it is an ideal choice for those looking for a versatile and high-performance boat. A true celebration of the sea, ready to offer unforgettable adventures to its owners.
