From 30 April to 4 May 2025, the heart of the Mediterranean will once again be beating for yachting with the fourth edition of the Fiera Nautica di Sardegna (Sardinia Boat Show), scheduled to take place in the Marina of Porto Rotondo.
L’evento, organizzato da Cipnes Gallura con il sostegno della Regione Sardegna e il patrocinio di Confindustria Nautica, è ormai un appuntamento centrale per gli operatori del settore.
Among the excellences present in 2025 a new protagonist stands out: CMC Italian Luxury Upholstery, a historical handicraft company specialised in made-to-measure nautical upholstery.
CMC’s participation in the fair marks an important step for the Friuli-based company, which has long since consolidated its presence also in Sardinia, where it collaborates with shipyards, shipowners and professionals in the sector for the realisation of customised nautical fittings. IIn a context of growth and innovation such as the Costa Smeralda, CMC represents the perfect union of tradition and avant-garde, craftsmanship and contemporary design.
A history spanning more than a century
CMC traces its roots back to 1918, when Giovanni Nobile opened his workshop in Mortegliano (UD), initially devoting himself to harnesses for draught animals and upholstery for upper middle-class families in Friuli. Over time, his passion for textiles and tailoring was passed on to the next generations: first to his son Euclide, then to his granddaughter Clara Nobile, up to the present day with Davide and Mauro Costantini, who run the company today.
Over the years, CMC has been able to evolve while remaining faithful to its artisan vocation, specialising in the last twenty years in high quality nautical upholstery, a path that has led it to distinguish itself on the Italian and international scene.
Nautical upholstery as bespoke art
Today, CMC Italian Luxury Upholstery is a benchmark for those seeking excellence in upholstery for yachts, sailboats and pleasure boats. The flagship product is made-to-measure nautical cushions, both for outdoor and indoor use: each piece is designed and manufactured according to the aesthetic and functional requirements of the customer.
The services offered include:
- Customised cushions and upholstery
- Awnings and covers
- Anti-UV glass covers
- Nautical carpeting
- Custom-made mattresses
- Customised sheets and towels
- Interior Curtains
The entire process is followed with handcrafted care: from the choice of materials to the definition of the density of the padding, from the colours to the stitching, right down to the details of quilting (with a special machine) and design. Each workmanship is unique, designed to harmonise with the architecture of the boat and the style of the owner.
The possibility of customising every detail is one of the company’s added values: the solutions proposed are the result of listening, consulting and dialogue, with a service that accompanies the customer from design to final assembly.
CMC Italian Luxury Upholstery: an important presence in Sardinia
CMC is not just a name in upholstery from Friuli: in Sardinia it is increasingly in demand for customised nautical fittings all along the Costa Smeralda. Participation in the Porto Rotondo Fair therefore, represents a return “home” and an opportunity to strengthen ties with an area in full ferment.
Sardinia, and in particular the Costa Smeralda, has long been one of the most active markets for luxury yachting. The company has already established itself in the area as a trusted partner for refits, refurnishing and outfitting from scratch.
The presence at this event is therefore the natural continuation of a path already successfully undertaken. In Porto Rotondo, CMC will showcase a selection of its most exclusive products, focusing on material innovation, ergonomics, durability and sartorial design.
