Solid as a fisherman, cosy as a cruising boat. The new Tuccoli T295 SF Montecristo, presented in 2025, represents the latest evolution of the Tuscan shipyard in the segment of the medium range walkarounds, designed for the family but with real sportsman’s performance.

The result of an all-Italian project and built with proprietary technology TAMT – Tuccoli Advanced Manufacturing Technology™, the exclusive construction method of the Collesalvetti shipyard that blends Tuscan nautical craftsmanship and professional boatbuilding solutions. The T295 SF (Sport Family) is a perfect balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern solutions, where every detail has a precise function.

Thanks to this combination, the hull is more robust, stable and durable, with reinforcements at structural points, high-strength gelcoat and vinylester resins to guarantee superior protection over time. The result is a solid, quiet boat that can cope with even the most demanding weather conditions without hesitation.

In just a few days, the new Tuccoli T295 SF Montecristo will be the protagonist at The Genoa International Boat Show, scheduled from 18 to 23 September 2025. At Banchina A – stand BA 131 it will be possible to go on board and discover both versions up close, the VM and the SF Montecristo, so as to touch with one’s own hands the differences and peculiarities that make them unique. An ideal opportunity to concretely try out what we are now telling you about..

Design and exterior of Tuccoli T295 SF Montecristo

At first glance, the T295 SF Montecristo impresses with its strong yet elegant lines. The vertical bow and taut cavel express strength and character, while the high walls at the bow immediately inspire confidence. The low cockpit, compared to the deck plan, improves stability in navigation and makes every activity on board safer, especially for the little ones.

All this is developed on a purewalkaround hull, with wide, protected walkways that make access to every area of the boat simple and safe, even when navigating.

Upon boarding, your gaze immediately rests on the cockpit, ready to transform as required. In an instant it becomes a convivial area, with a sofa and table for a lunch in the roadstead, or a fishing platform with integrated live bait tanks and free space for equipment.

This versatility comes from the Tuccoli Modular Deck technology, which allows the boat to be adapted to every occasion, without sacrificing the robustness and functionality typical of the yard.

Walking towards the helm station, one notices the carbon T-top. Light and strong, it reduces weight at the top, lowering the centre of gravity and improving stability, even in rough seas.

The helm station is modern and technological, with dual multifunction displays and the Tuccoli SmartLink™ system, which centralises the management of systems and electronics in an intuitive interface. Sitting at the helm, the sensation is that of being in control of a responsive yet reassuring vessel, capable of responding precisely to every command.

Tuccoli T295 SF Montecristo 6Interior: real space and comfort

Descending below deck, one expects the classic limited space of a fisherman… but the T295 SF Montecristo surprisingly is spacious

.
Tuccoli T295 SF Montecristo 2Side windows bring natural light into the interior, where two real double cabins stand out: one in the bow, spacious and comfortable, and a central one, independent and well-finished. The bathroom, separate and equipped with a shower, confirms the vocation of the T295 SF Montecristo as a boat not only for day trips, but also for multi-day cruises..

Every detail, from the finishes to the materials, maintain the essential and functional mid-range style that is Tuccoli’s trademark.

It is impressive how this boat of just over 10 metres manages to combine two worlds: on the one hand that of the pure, solid and marine fisherman, on the other that of the family boat, comfortable and versatile. This is the real strength of the T295 SF Montecristo: being able to be a fishing platform, cruising boat and safe haven on the open sea at the same time.

The test: T295 SF Montecristo: the “family fisherman”

It is a June afternoon, the sun is blazing hot in Cala de Medici, in the province of Livorno, and after visiting the entire production facility in Collesalvetti, the Tuccoli team brought us here for the sea test of their new product: Tuccoli T295 SF Montecristo.

If it is true that it is 30 degrees under the sun, it is also true that there is a lot of wind here in the marina. There’s a short wave of 30/40 centimetres that is being driven by the Mistral wind to be crypt and breaky.

We take a bit of time to admire the two versions, the T295 VM (Marco Volpi) in honour of the three-time world sports fishing champion and testimonial for Suzuki Marine, has a unique palmares that has no equal in fishing or in any other sporting activity: 24 world titles and 21 times national champion at individual level.

And then we move on to the Tuccoli T295 SF Montecristo: the standard motorisation includes a pair of Suzuki DF300AP, with an option for a single 600 hp outboard. We’ve done the description before, now let’s cast off our moorings and see how she performs!

The mistral wind and wave outside was the ideal context to put the Tuccoli T295 SF Montecristo to the test.

At 34 knots, with the engines at 5600 rpm, the boat never hit the water: the sensation, rather, was one of surprising smoothness, accompanied by a robustness that conveys confidence. The boat weighs, and you can feel it, but not in a bad way: that mass translates into stability and control, with no annoying splashes, and with the walkways and cockpit remaining dry throughout the test. Only the hull at the bow, stressed by the wind, threw up some spray, but nothing that disturbed navigation.

Even when tacking tight, at 30 knots against the wind and waves, the boat proved impeccable: no discomfort, always clean trim and great balance. Gliding already starts at 10.3 knots, while up to 25 knots consumption remains optimised, with around 102 litres/hour, despite the dirty hull and almost full tanks (100 litres of water and 350 litres of fuel on board). The cockpit remained dry in all conditions, and without the aid of zipwakes the hull maintained a neutral and stable trim.

There are, however, also aspects to be noted with honesty: above 30 knots, the engines become decidedly noisier, and in tight turns, when the hull tilts a lot, the hard top restricts visibility outwards. A useful solution to be studied in the boatyard could be the introduction of larger windows. The best driving position remains the standing one, because from the stool the view is less effective even for me, who is 1.75 m tall. The steering wheel feels very light, at times perhaps too much so, while the handgrips are notable for their sensitivity and prompt response.

On the whole, however, the dominant sensation is one of extreme safety: the T295 Montecristo moves smoothly even in short and messy seas, it doesn’t creak, it remains stable in all conditions and conveys the idea of a robust, solid boat, built to tackle the sea without compromise.

It is clear that the bow designed in this way was a winning choice: the T295 SF Montecristo always transmits the idea of solidity, safety and great balance, qualities that really make the difference at sea.

The Tuccoli T295 SF Montecristo leaves the feeling of a solid, safe and concrete boat. It does not seek special effects, but convinces by balance and reliability. The hull, all in fibreglass and of considerable weight, offers comfort and stability even in demanding conditions, while the low centre of gravity and carbon T-top enhance seaworthiness.

She isn’t perfect: the steering wheel is too light and the view partially obstructed when turning by the hard top are details that can be improved, as are some finishes that don’t reach the level of other shipyards. But if the judgement is based on navigation, safety and value for money, the Montecristo turns out to be an extremely successful cruising fisherman.

A boat designed for those who want to do a lot of cruising, with family or friends, without ever jeopardising comfort and tranquillity… and in this aspect, navigation and socialising spaces, it definitely surpasses many other boats of its size.
